Overview
Maréa wanted a swim film with no beach clichés. So we shot at dawn in October, in deep red fabric and cold water, and let the contrast between warmth and cold carry the whole story.
The challenge
Cold water, silk-weight fabric, and a rising sun that gave us eleven usable minutes. We rehearsed the movement dry for two days so that when the light arrived, nobody was thinking about choreography.
Approach
A single camera on a long lens, fabric rigged to assistant-controlled lines, and the swimmer moving against the tide. Sound was recorded wild on the beach and rebuilt in post around breath and water.
Outcome
The film anchored Maréa’s resort presentation and was picked up by three swim editorials. It remains the most-saved post in the brand’s history.
- Resort hero film and cutdowns
- 58 editorial swim stills
- Presentation loop for buyers
- Sound-designed social edits
“Eleven minutes of light, and they were ready for all of them. That is the whole review.”
