Overview
Northwind needed a winter outerwear launch that felt expedition-grade without leaving the studio system. We built a full alpine world on stage — wind, snowfall, and low alpine light — then shot it like a documentary.
The challenge
The collection had to read as technical and credible, but the calendar said early autumn. We designed a lighting plot that faked November at noon and built falling-snow rigs that could run for hours without soaking the garments.
Approach
Two shoot days, one unit. Day one was motion: models moving through staged wind and snow while two cameras rolled in parallel. Day two was stills, matching the film frames one-to-one so the campaign cut and the lookbook feel like the same breath.
Outcome
The launch sold through its hero parka in nine days. More importantly, Northwind now reuses the lighting system as its house style — every drop since has been shot inside the world we built.
- Hero launch film (60s, 15s, 6s cutdowns)
- 84 retouched campaign stills
- Behind-the-scenes edit for social
- Full lookbook layout set
“Reelhaven built us a mountain indoors. Nobody watching the film believes it was seventy degrees on stage.”
