Cast the person, not the picture

A portfolio face guarantees competence and caps surprise. The workshop founder with sawdust in her cuffs brings something no casting site sells: a life. We cast biographies, then design coverage that flatters inexperience instead of exposing it.

Give verbs, never adjectives

“Be confident” paralyzes civilians. “Walk to the window and count the bricks” frees them. Action produces expression as a byproduct; chasing the expression directly produces the exact frozen smile you feared.

“Direction is mostly permission. Say “that was real, do it again” and watch people bloom.”
